A New Beginning for MARKETING HORIZON
The Japan Marketing Association (JMA), based in Minato, Tokyo, is set to undergo a significant transformation in 2026, marking it as 'JMA Metamorphosis 2026.' As a symbol of this change, JMA will fully renew its historic publication, MARKETING HORIZON, originally established in 1958, starting in July 2026.
Embracing Modern Marketing Perspectives
The revamped edition will welcome Daichi Tamase, a former world-class athlete and current professor at the University of Tokyo's Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, as its navigator. In line with the newly established definition of marketing in 2024, which emphasizes 'value creation,' the magazine will evolve into a primarily digital platform, focusing on podcasts and YouTube content.
Marking this transition, the first episode titled 'Episode 0' will be released on July 1, 2026, followed by the official content series beginning one week later, on July 8, 2026.
Rethinking Value Creation in Marketing
Since its inception, MARKETING HORIZON has documented the evolution of marketing in Japan. However, as marketing landscapes have become increasingly complex, the need has shifted from merely presenting success stories ('WHAT') to exploring the deeper thoughts and obstacles that led to these achievements ('HOW'). The new MARKETING HORIZON aims to illuminate the authentic struggles faced by marketers, offering a media space that invites readers and business professionals to pause and engage in reflective thought amidst their busy lives. This publication aims to serve as a 'punctuation' or 'return point' for professionals.

Dual Perspectives on Real Stories
With Tamase navigating the content and Tomoko Suzuki providing theoretical support, this new venture will delve deep into the essence of storytelling. By inviting guests to share their 'real-life stories,' the media will extract truths about value creation, combining personal experiences with academic insights.
Accessibility through Audio Platforms
Designed for everyday accessibility, the new media will primarily focus on audio formats. It will be available through popular platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music, catering to busy professionals who can listen during commutes or breaks. Additionally, printed versions of edited content will be provided to member companies.
Editorial Team
A distinguished panel of six marketing specialists will contribute their unique viewpoints as editorial board members, collaborating with JMA to shape the future of marketing media. The editor-in-chief will be Goro Hogari, Director of Hakuhodo Life Science Research Institute, alongside other members: Tomoko Suzuki (Hitotsubashi Business School), Keiichi Higuchi (Higuchi Office), Tomoko Tagami (Synergia Inc.), Kazuhiko Kawashita (Quantum Inc.), and Takuji Kato (Meiji University).
