Midea Building Technologies Unveils Cutting-Edge HVAC Solutions

Midea Building Technologies (MBT) made a significant impact at the C&R 2025 event held in Madrid, where they introduced their latest energy-efficient Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) solutions. This exhibition reaffirms MBT's commitment to sustainability and innovation in building technologies, showcasing products that are set to redefine energy performance in commercial structures.

One of the notable highlights of the event was the introduction of the next-generation R32 VRF system, which was showcased outside Japan for the first time. This advanced system boasts a fully sealed electrical control box rated IP68, featuring phase change refrigerant cooling that delivers 3.5 times more cooling capacity compared to traditional designs. Its G-type heat exchanger offers a 32% larger heat transfer area while maintaining the same footprint, making it highly efficient for varied commercial applications. The R32 system provides cooling and heating capacities ranging from 25.2 to 45 kW, ensuring flexibility and energy savings for diverse commercial requirements.

In addition, the Mars Large R290 ATW heat pump was selected for the Innovation Gallery. It utilizes refrigerant R290, known for its minimal Global Warming Potential (GWP) and zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP). This eco-friendly solution reaches water temperatures up to 85°C and operates efficiently under challenging environmental conditions. With a compact footprint of only 1.96 m² and heating capacities ranging from 50 to 70 kW, it is suitable for both residential and commercial applications, with an accessible control panel that facilitates easy maintenance.

MBT also showcased the innovative MagBoost Apex Pro magnetic centrifugal chiller, recognized for its unique design. This chiller employs advanced technologies such as magnetic bearing control and micro-channel cooling, which significantly enhance quiet operation while providing high efficiency for large-scale projects, particularly data centers. The MagBoost Apex Pro offers sustainable solutions that reduce energy consumption and operational costs, aligning with MBT's environmentally responsible practices.

The company’s presentation at C&R 2025 didn’t stop there; MBT also highlighted a broad array of solutions tailored to meet various market needs. These included comfortable residential systems, flexible options for small commercial buildings, and robust systems for industrial and large buildings. The EasyFit VRF system and Quantum series were designed for seamless installation in commercial environments, while the magnetic ultra-high temperature vapor compressor, providing steam at temperatures of 150 to 200°C, serves as an excellent alternative to traditional steam boilers for industrial uses.

The AquaThermal Max Inverter Air-Cooled Scroll heat pump featuring R32 refrigerant is another noteworthy product. It ensures straightforward maintenance and eco-friendly attributes, making it ideal for commercial and industrial uses. All these products exhibit energy efficiency, simplified installation, and intelligent integration, catering to a wide range of building types.

As part of their commitment to energy efficiency, Midea has introduced the iEasyEnergy intelligent energy solution, which enhances installation ease and smart connections, optimizing energy consumption across solar, storage, and heat pump systems. This solution not only improves living comfort and efficiency but also promotes energy independence, safety, and cost reduction.

MBT’s innovative offerings have garnered substantial attention across Europe. Their comprehensive HVAC solutions and smart management systems are transforming projects like the 'Sustainable Living Complex' at the University of Malta into dynamic research laboratories. In Estonia, eight outdoor units of the Mars Large R290 heat pump ensure stable, efficient, and low-carbon heating and hot water supply throughout the year for a Mercedes-Benz showroom. Similarly, the HVAC solution deployed at Mayoral's headquarters in Spain optimizes climate control, enhances temperature regulation, and improves air quality while delivering significant energy savings.
