Cathexis Successfully Finalizes $5.8 Billion Sale of Yondr Group to DigitalBridge and La Caisse

Cathexis Holdings Finalizes Major Acquisition Deal

In a momentous announcement made on July 2, 2025, Cathexis Holdings, L.P. declared the successful completion of the sale of Yondr Group for a staggering $5.8 billion. The acquisition was finalized with DigitalBridge Group, Inc., listed on NYSE as DBRG, and La Caisse (formerly known as CDPQ). This transaction highlights Cathexis's strategic exit from its investment in Yondr, a company it founded in 2018.

Yondr has positioned itself as a significant player in the world of data centers, operating at a global scale to meet the complex capacity demands of some of the largest technology firms in the industry. The company boasts over 420 megawatts (MW) of dedicated capacity for its large-scale data centers, alongside substantial land holdings that allow for an additional potential capacity of over 1 gigawatt (GW). In a landscape shaped by burgeoning data processing needs, Yondr stands ready to leverage the ongoing surge driven by digital transformation, cloud computing, and the expanding footprint of artificial intelligence.

William Harrison, CEO of Cathexis, expressed pride in having supported Yondr since its inception. He noted, "Yondr has become a critical infrastructure partner for some of the world's largest tech companies, and I am confident that DigitalBridge and La Caisse are the right partners to support Yondr in its next growth phase."

Harrison also took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to key individuals who contributed to Yondr's success, particularly Paul Cossell, its former CEO, and Chester Reid, the former CFO. Their leadership has been instrumental in positioning Yondr for this next chapter, driving its capabilities and contributions within the data center sector.

As the company looks ahead, new leadership will take the reins, with Aaron Wangenheim stepping in as the new CEO and Sandip Mahajan serving as the new CFO. Both leaders bring a wealth of experience and vision to guide Yondr as it embarks on this exciting new phase alongside DigitalBridge and La Caisse.

The financial advisory for the deal was provided by Citi, while legal counsel was managed by White & Case LLP. PricewaterhouseCoopers supported Yondr as tax and accounting advisors throughout this complex transaction.
