Girl Scouts of the USA Launches Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ Program to Aid Preschool Girls

Girl Scouts of the USA Launches Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ Program

The Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has announced an exciting new initiative to support incoming Daisy Girl Scouts—young girls about to start kindergarten and first grade this coming fall. Known as the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program, this initiative is set to help these young girls develop essential skills as they transition into the school environment.

Helping Young Girls Thrive

The program, available from now until June 30, focuses on preschool and kindergarten-aged children who are not yet part of the Girl Scouts. It promises a summer filled with fun, friendship, and adventures. Through engaging activities, the program aims to boost the girls' confidence and encourage their creativity while equipping them with useful skills for the upcoming school year.

As part of the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program, participants will receive three activity books delivered directly to their homes between June and August 2025. These books will aid in their preparation for kindergarten and first grade while also introducing imaginative play through enjoyable activities that contribute to character development.

Building Future Leaders

The activity books are available in both English and bilingual Spanish-English options, ensuring a broader reach among diverse communities. They focus on a variety of crucial skills, including fine and gross motor skills, effective communication, emotional regulation, critical thinking, and teamwork.

Bonnie Barczykowski, Executive Director of GSUSA, emphasized the significance of this program: "Starting a new school year is a big transition for girls, and at Girl Scouts, we are excited to assist parents and caregivers in preparing for such formative years. The Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program will equip girls with the necessary abilities to navigate this stage, discover their interests, and build their self-esteem, setting them up for success in kindergarten, first grade, and beyond."

Membership Benefits

Upon signing up for the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program, girls will receive a Girl Scouts membership valid until September 30, 2026. This membership grants them access to a wide variety of activities, camaraderie among peers, and interaction with adult mentors, fostering a supportive community atmosphere.
