Cognizant and Google Cloud Team Up for AI Transformation
Cognizant, a leading technology services provider based in New Jersey, has announced the establishment of a dedicated unit named the "Gemini Enterprise Practice" in collaboration with Google Cloud. This initiative aims to facilitate the extensive adoption of Gemini Enterprise solutions within enterprises, ultimately speeding up the realization of value for businesses.
This new practice signifies Cognizant's commitment to integrating its exceptional engineering capabilities with industry-specific insights and proven AI operational skills. The company has been recognized as a "Diamond Partner" in the Google Cloud partner program, which is the highest tier available, reflecting its considerable expertise in applying AI technologies.
Under this program, Cognizant plans to deploy engineers directly into client sites to collaborate closely with Google Cloud teams. This hands-on approach is designed to minimize the time to value associated with the implementation of Gemini Enterprise. Furthermore, Cognizant will expand its portfolio of enterprise-grade products available on the Google Cloud Marketplace, providing a wider range of solutions for mutual clients. Cognizant is also investing in the training and certification of its global delivery teams in Gemini Enterprise, paving the way for large-scale service deployment.
Cognizant's President of Core Technology & Insights, Annadurai Elango, emphasized the importance of this enhanced approach: "This initiative showcases the essence of our 'AI Builder' strategy. Having engineers onsite collaborating directly with Google Cloud teams allows us to address real-world challenges as they arise. We have built this capability internally and demonstrated its effectiveness, and we are now poised to scale this for our shared clients."
The collaboration echoes the shared recognition between Cognizant and Google Cloud that a partner equipped with advanced engineering skills is essential for businesses looking to implement AI extensively and achieve measurable results. Cognizant's engineering-first model, along with its expanding portfolio of AI solutions tailored for various industries, enables the company to offer practical insights that clients can utilize directly.
Kevin Ichhpurani, a representative of the Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, stated, "To scale AI in production environments effectively, enterprises need platforms that facilitate targeted outcomes and partners capable of engineering these outcomes directly. We are blending Google Cloud's advanced capabilities with Cognizant's expertise in implementation to help our customers transition the potential of AI into tangible impacts in real-world settings."
The Gemini Enterprise Practice has already begun to deliver results for joint customers. For instance, a major telecommunications company in North America partnered with Cognizant to tackle revenue discrepancies related to billing that involved hundreds of millions of dollars. Through this initial collaboration, they have utilized Gemini Enterprise across over ten different initiatives, which include revenue recovery, invoice reconciliation, and workflow automation.
This announcement further strengthens the collaborative portfolio of solutions, including the recently introduced "Cognizant Agentic Retail CX," designed specifically for contact centers utilizing Gemini Enterprise. Both companies are also advancing the market introduction of the "Agentic Employee Platform", a solution designed to deploy agent-based AI across specific roles within enterprises, from project management to marketing and training. This platform, which operates on a hybrid model combining human oversight with agent operations, is capable of automating up to 60-70% of manual tasks within targeted workflows and reducing implementation timelines from several quarters to just a few weeks. This initiative is one of the industry’s pioneering agent-based workforce solutions developed collaboratively by Cognizant and Google Cloud.
Moreover, this news is a testament to their successful partnership, as Cognizant was recently awarded in two categories, "Global Data & Analytics" and "Services & Industry Solutions: Healthcare & Life Sciences", at the Google Cloud Partner of the Year 2026 awards, and was named a leader in the Everest Group's "Google Cloud Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026".
