During the implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad project, Afcons adopted various circular economy practices. This included recycling concrete washout waste into reusable materials such as sand, aggregates, and water; repurposing tunnel excavation material for the manufacturing of segments; treating tunnel wastewater prior to discharge; and maximizing the use of natural light through skylights in design. These methodologies led to significant reductions in resource consumption, waste generation, energy use, and overall environmental impact.
