Alps Blockchain Transforms Its Identity to Alps, Signaling New Era as Integrated Infrastructure Leader

In a bold move that symbolizes its evolution, Alps Blockchain, a prominent European leader in digital infrastructure and Bitcoin mining, has announced plans to rebrand itself as simply "Alps." This change marks a new chapter in the company's journey as it transitions into a fully integrated infrastructure provider focused on advanced data center construction and management.

Francesco Buffa, the CEO and co-founder of Alps, emphasized that this change reflects the company's growth. "We are no longer just a blockchain firm; we have transformed into a comprehensive infrastructure business. Our mission now revolves around designing, building, and operating high-efficiency data centers that convert energy into computational power to support the digital economy," he stated.

This rebranding comes at a time when the company is poised for significant expansion. With a solid financial foundation derived from continuous cash flow produced by Bitcoin mining, Alps is ready to broaden its scope to include high-performance computing (HPC) for artificial intelligence in the near future.

Francesca Failoni, CFO and co-founder, added, "The ability to generate computational power for the Bitcoin network has allowed us to maintain a steady and unprecedented revenue stream in the digital infrastructure industry. This stable base enables us to plan for the long term and strategically integrate new applications like AI computing into our existing infrastructure."

Founded in 2018, Alps has developed and managed energy-efficient, modular data centers across several countries including Italy, Paraguay, Ecuador, Oman, and the United States. The company has established infrastructure and energy contracts that will facilitate reaching up to 15 EH/s of computational power, representing approximately 1.5% of the global Bitcoin hashing rate.

Currently, Alps operates and controls over 250 MW of installed or ready-to-deploy capacity, achieving a remarkable energy efficiency of 15.4 J/TH, among the best worldwide. Looking ahead, the company has ambitious expansion plans extending to 2029.

The transition to the name Alps better encapsulates its broadened mission and positions the company as a vital player at the intersection of energy and digital infrastructure. By integrating various aspects of the value chain—from site development and electrical engineering to the manufacturing of containerized data centers and onsite operations—Alps aims for scalable and sustainable deployments worldwide.

Despite the name change, the company's legal structure, shareholder composition, and ongoing projects will remain unchanged, ensuring continuity in operations.

As a leader in the industry, Alps designs and manages state-of-the-art modular data centers that effectively transform energy into computation. With its global network of sites, the company not only supports Bitcoin mining but is also earnestly preparing for advancements in high-performance computing applications. Founded in Trento in 2018, Alps has made its mark across Europe, the Middle East, and America, showcasing its role in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital infrastructure.
