This year marks the fourth installment of the highly anticipated Suica Summer Festival, organized by JR East Japan Cross Station. Running from July 24 to July 26, 2026, this vibrant event will be hosted at the Tokyo Station, featuring an array of engaging activities aimed at fans of the beloved Suica Penguin.

What to Expect at the Festival


The festival will feature a Pensta POP-UP Store along with an Orange Page shop, showcasing a collection of newly released Suica Penguin merchandise that fans can purchase. An exciting part of the event will be a raffle open to those who shop using Suica, giving participants a chance to win fabulous prizes. Additionally, visitors will have the unique opportunity to take photos with the iconic Suica Penguin during the Penguin Photo Session, making it a must-see event for families and fans alike.

A Special Campaign: Penguin Years


JR East has announced a campaign called 'Penguin Years' as a way to express gratitude to fans of the Suica Penguin as it gets ready to conclude its journey in 2026. The Suica Summer Festival is part of this heartfelt initiative, aimed at celebrating the cherished mascot and its legacy.

The Penguin Photo Session


One of the highlights of the festival is undoubtedly the Penguin Photo Session, where participants can snap a picture with the Suica Penguin. This photogenic moment requires attendees to secure a designated ticket in advance.

Photo Session Overview

  • - Location: 'Dōrin no Hiroba' at Tokyo Station, Basement Level 1
  • - Dates: July 24 to July 26
  • - Times for Photos:
- Session times include 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM (5:00 PM slot available only on July 24 and 25).
- Each session is approximately 20 minutes long, with a limit of 20 groups per session (totaling 400 groups).

Participants should ensure they bring their own cameras or smartphones for the photo session.

Ticket Distribution Details

  • - Date for Ticket Distribution: July 2 to July 4 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • - Distribution Location: Next to the escalator at 'Square Zero' inside the Grandsta Tokyo Event Space, Basement Level 1 of Tokyo Station
  • - Requirements for Tickets:
- To obtain a ticket, participants must purchase 2,000 yen or more (including tax) at eligible stores using a Suica registered on the JRE POINT website on the distribution date. Receipts from multiple purchases may be combined.
- Eligible stores include Grandsta Tokyo, Grandsta Marunouchi, Grandsta Yaesu, and Grandsta Yaekita.

Once at the distribution site, participants need to present the JRE POINT app or card along with their receipts. They will fill out a registration form specifying their desired photo session time, and tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that tickets are limited and will be distributed until they run out. Updates on availability can be found through official social media channels. Also, be mindful that ticket resale and transfers are strongly prohibited, as JRE POINT numbers will be verified at check-in on the day of the event.
