The renowned shopping complex, Ariake Garden, managed by Sumitomo Realty & Management, is set to host its annual New Year celebration from January 1 to January 3, 2026. The event promises an array of festive activities inspired by Japanese traditions that can be enjoyed by families and visitors alike.

During the event, guests can participate in the exciting “New Year 300 Draw”, a beloved tradition at Ariake Garden. Visitors can pay ¥5,000 to enter the draw, automatically winning shopping vouchers worth over ¥6,000. This exciting opportunity is perfect for those keen to test their luck in the New Year!

Mochitsuki Experience


Experience the traditional Japanese rice cake making, Mochitsuki, at Ariake Garden. This event is particularly popular among children, as they can learn about and participate in the authentic process of making rice cakes using traditional tools.

On January 2nd, Unite, the mascot of the Tokyo United Basketball Club, and Shama Taro from Shimizu Construction Koto Blue Sharks will make an appearance, enhancing the festive atmosphere with their special guest appearances.

Ariake Garden Shrine


A unique shrine will pop up at Ariake Garden, where visitors can enjoy traditional New Year’s shrine visits, or Hatsumode. At the shrine, an array of fortune-telling opportunities will be offered, including customized omikuji (fortune slips) unique to Ariake Garden.

  • - Dates: January 1-3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • - Location: Central Atrium, 2nd Floor
  • - Entry Method: Present a receipt for purchases amounting to ¥200 or more (not combinable) to participate once per day.

Prayer Corner


  • - Dates: January 1-8, 2026
  • - Location: Central Atrium, 2nd Floor
  • - Entry Fee: Free, until 3,000 items run out
  • - The wishes made will be dedicated to the Izumo Taisha Tokyo branch after the event.

New Year Fukubukuro Fair


From December 10, 2025, to January 5, 2026, visitors can enjoy a New Year Fukubukuro (lucky bag) fair, offering exclusive items packed into limited edition lucky bags available at various stores throughout the complex.

Winter Bargain Sale


Ariake Garden will also feature a much-anticipated winter bargain sale from December 12, 2025, to January 12, 2026, providing amazing deals on winter items across participating stores.
