Katekate Art Festival 2025: Celebrating Diversity Through Creativity and Community

Katekate Art Festival 2025

The Katekate Art Festival, which began in 2023, incorporates the rich history, nature, and culture of Hachioji, Japan. The festival’s name is derived from the local dialect, where “katemeshi,” or mixed rice, symbolizes a society that embraces both people with disabilities and those without.

Throughout the festival, various art displays and community activities are held in historical locations such as old factories, traditional houses, public parks, and other unique venues. The aim is to create an inclusive environment by connecting individuals with diverse backgrounds.
