China's Largest Electrochemical Energy Storage Project Achieves Major Milestone with SINEXCEL's Technology
Major Milestone in China's Energy Storage
In a groundbreaking achievement for renewable energy in China, the largest electrochemical energy storage project, boasting a capacity of 600 MW / 2400 MWh, has successfully completed the installation of all its storage cabins. This project is a significant step towards integrating renewable energy sources, marking a pivotal moment in the nation's efforts to enhance its energy storage capabilities.
The energy storage system utilizes SINEXCEL's cutting-edge 1725 kW power conversion system, playing a crucial role in the transition of the country's energy landscape. Located in Shenzhen, the project aims to amalgamate various types of energy - wind, solar, and thermal - into a single efficient system designed to store and supply renewable energy to the grid. Once operational, the facility will contribute approximately 840 GWh of renewable energy annually, showcasing the project's immense potential.
The infrastructure includes a total of 240 battery containers and 60 power conversion modules, and each charge can store up to 2.4 GWh, sufficient to meet the daily energy requirements of 480,000 households or charge 36,000 electric vehicles for a distance of 500 kilometers. Such capabilities underscore the project's role in addressing energy demands while promoting sustainability.
Moreover, SINEXCEL is also supporting a 220 MW / 880 MWh energy storage project that has recently been connected to the grid in Ningxia. This initiative leverages the region’s abundant solar resources, merging solar energy with storage systems to tackle the common challenges of renewable energy utilization, improve grid stability, and facilitate energy redistribution. It is expected that this station will deliver another 200 GWh of electricity annually.
Employing SINEXCEL's 1725 kW power conversion systems, the project exemplifies the firm’s commitment to developing innovative energy solutions. The modular architecture of these systems allows scalability from 215 kW to 1.72 MW per unit, making it an adaptable solution suitable for numerous applications, from large-scale commercial setups to microgrids.
With peak efficiencies reaching up to 98.5%, SINEXCEL’s systems feature advanced multi-circuit technology that enhances battery protection, while also supporting flexible configurations for diverse energy storage needs. This enables a combination output of both AC and DC, which simplifies management and scaling processes. The cabinets are designed to comply with outdoor durability standards and support real-time grid balancing capabilities with a rapid response time of just 10 milliseconds.
SINEXCEL's influence and deployment sphere extend globally, with installations across over 40 countries and more than 5000 deployments, solidifying its position as a leader in the energy storage arena with over 12 GW of capacity established. The company's active contributions and partnerships with industry leaders such as EVE Energy and Schneider Electric further demonstrate its dedication to sustainable energy solutions.
As China embarks on this ambitious energy transition journey, projects like these by SINEXCEL not only represent remarkable technical advancements but also affirm a collective commitment towards a more resilient and sustainable future in energy management.
