G-SMASH Launches Made in Japan XR Project
G-SMASH, a company based in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo, has unveiled its ambitious initiative, the "Made in Japan XR Project." This project is focused on creating the next global entertainment IP through XR (Extended Reality) content originating from Japan. The first phase of this project invites students and young creators to participate in an XR game development program, starting its application process on July 27, 2026. An informational session and networking event is scheduled for August 6, allowing prospective participants to learn more and connect with industry professionals.
Supporting Student and Young Creator Challenges
Japan is home to many talented students and young creators who possess remarkable ideas and technical skills. However, to transition from concept to a fully realized game, support in terms of funding, equipment, mentoring, and marketing is essential. The Made in Japan XR Project aims to guide participants through all stages, from game ideation and prototype development to store submission and global release. This initiative not only nurtures creativity but aims to bring multiple XR games to a global audience.
What is the Made in Japan XR Project?
Utilizing G-SMASH's extensive experience in event management, community building, and collaboration with hardware companies and development groups both domestically and internationally, the Made in Japan XR Project seeks to deliver Japan's original XR content to the global market, eventually transforming them into new global IPs.
