Exploring the Beauty of Nature: Yurika Kinoshita's First Solo Exhibition

Discover the Beauty of Life in 'PERPETUAL FLOW'

Introduction
From May 16 to June 14, 2026, Galerie Tamenaga is proud to present the first solo exhibition of talented artist Yurika Kinoshita, titled "PERPETUAL FLOW—The Everlasting Cycle of Life." This exhibition invites you to explore Kinoshita's unique perspective, blending themes of flowers and landscapes with the continuous flow of nature and life.

A Journey Through Nature

Born in 1988 in Saga Prefecture, adjacent to the warm coastal area of the Ariake Sea, Kinoshita has nurtured her rich sensibility in this fertile environment. Her deepening interest in art led her to study spatial design at Kyoto Institute of Technology and Musashino Art University. From her childhood, growing up in a flower farming family, she developed a profound understanding and love for flowers, which now reflect in her vivid artworks.

Kinoshita’s creations feature vibrant blossoms such as sweet peas and majestic tulips, brilliantly painted, radiating life as they fill the canvas. These flowers are complemented by serene depictions of nature that linger in Kinoshita's memories. The clear blue skies, shimmering sunlight, and fragrant breezes blend to create a palpable pulse of life within her work.

Unique Artistic Technique

One of the most striking aspects of Kinoshita's art is her innovative use of hands and arms instead of traditional brushes. By scooping colors directly from paint cans with her palms, she applies them onto the canvas, sometimes swiftly and at other times gently, weaving together a flow of colors.

Kinoshita emphasizes the importance of not mixing colors beforehand. She applies pure hues directly onto the canvas and layers the next color while it's still wet. As she stretches the different colors simultaneously with her hands, they remain separate yet create rich stripes and bands, producing a rhythmic pattern. While some accidental blending occurs, the overall color composition never sinks into darkness; instead, it generates vibrant nuances that add depth to her works. This process doesn’t dictate form; rather, it celebrates the movement of paint and the rhythm of the body, an endeavor that reflects the unceasing flow of life onto the canvas.

A Celebration of Life

Kinoshita's artworks, filled with radiant colors and flowing strokes, offer an extraordinary outlook on nature’s beauty. The exhibition highlights around 30 new pieces created specifically for this event, allowing viewers an opportunity to immerse themselves in her captivating world.
