A Glimpse into the Life of Rio Nakata

Fuji TV is set to launch an exclusive documentary titled "Am I Now a Figure to Admire?- Rio Nakata: Greatest Moment in 2030-" on March 23, at noon, available on its streaming service, FOD Premium. This film provides an intimate look into the life and evolution of figure skater Rio Nakata, showcasing his unwavering resolve as he eyes the 2030 Winter Olympics.

As the quadrennial festival of the Olympics approaches, 17-year-old Nakata, unfortunately, finds himself ineligible for the Milan-Cortina Games due to age restrictions. Nonetheless, he visits the venue of men's figure skating, where this young prodigy reaffirms his dreams for the Olympics in four years’ time.

Rio began his skating journey at a tender age of three, coached by his father, and quickly rose to prominence in the figure skating community. He has consecutively claimed victories at the World Junior Championships and continues to pursue his dream by challenging himself with quadruple jumps, inspired by his idol, Shoma Uno.

Despite facing injuries and setbacks, Nakata remains fixated on his ultimate goal - winning an Olympic gold medal. With renewed commitment, he sets his sights on the 2030 Olympics in the French Alps. This documentary captures his growth, featuring footage collected by Fuji TV, following Nakata from his novice days up until the last World Championships he competed in as a junior.
