State Farm® Receives the Prestigious 2026 Mission Leader Award from American Red Cross

State Farm® Recognized with the 2026 Mission Leader Award

The American Red Cross bestowed its prestigious 2026 Mission Leader Award upon State Farm® in recognition of the insurance giant's exceptional support and commitment to humanitarian initiatives. This annual recognition celebrates organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership and substantial contributions in advancing humanitarian work, especially during times of crisis.

At the forefront of this honor is State Farm's generosity, which includes the donation of four Emergency Response Vehicles across various Red Cross regions. These vehicles are vital assets for local preparedness, response, and recovery operations, helping to ensure communities are equipped to handle emergencies effectively.

Since 2024, State Farm has been recognized as a Red Cross Mission Leader, contributing over $3 million annually. This impressive financial support helps the Red Cross fulfill its mission wherever and whenever needed. As Rasheed Merritt, Executive of Corporate Responsibility, stated, "Being recognized nationally by the Red Cross, a leader in emergency management, is an immense honor for us. Our partnership exemplifies a shared commitment to being responsible neighbors and supporting community safety."

State Farm’s involvement has been pivotal to the Red Cross's Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP), which ensures that teams and resources are prepared well before emergencies occur. Such unwavering backing allows the Red Cross to provide immediate shelters, meals, emotional support, and other essential assistance as needed, while also strengthening community resilience for future challenges.

Moreover, State Farm has significantly contributed to various initiatives including the Home Fire Campaign and the Sound the Alarm program. These initiatives work collectively to promote home fire safety and preparedness among families. Since the start of these programs, the Red Cross has documented over 2,577 lives saved due to educational efforts and the installation of more than 3.1 million smoke alarms.

In a notable achievement in 2025, State Farm donated a total of $1 million, including the four Emergency Response Vehicles, to assist local Red Cross regions. They recently matched donations made by others during a matching gift campaign in December 2025, contributing another $500,000 to amplify support for the Red Cross mission.

State Farm not only focuses on monetary donations but also engages its associates in volunteering efforts. Within the past year alone, State Farm organized 33 blood drives that assisted in gathering over 860 donations of lifesaving blood. Their employees' contributions have collectively exceeded 170,000 blood donations over the past four decades.

"It is with great pride that we present State Farm with this year’s Mission Leader Award, recognizing their lasting dedication to our humanitarian efforts," remarked Cliff Holtz, president and CEO of the American Red Cross. The extensive support shown by State Farm has significantly bolstered the Red Cross's capacity to provide hope and assistance during emergencies.
