In an exciting development in the reinsurance sector, AmericanAg®, a prominent global reinsurance provider, has announced significant leadership changes aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and strategic alignment. Starting March 1, 2025, Meredith Williams and Pat Larsen will lead two newly formed teams as part of a broader organizational realignment at the company.

New Roles and Responsibilities

Meredith Williams has been appointed as the Senior Vice President of Reinsurance Strategy and Placement Broker Assumed Operations. This new role marks a strategic integration of previously distinct functions, designed to forge closer ties between corporate reinsurance strategies and underwriting activities within the Broker Assumed division. In this capacity, Meredith will oversee all outward reinsurance placements, manage reinsurer counterparty credit risk, and spearhead the development of innovative product solutions. His experience includes significant positions at Zurich Financial Services and Howden Tiger, before joining AmericanAg® in 2016. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Reinsurance Strategy & Placement.

On the other hand, Pat Larsen has been appointed as the Senior Vice President of the newly created Client Retro Broker Assumed Pool Management team. His pivotal role will involve direct collaboration with Farm Bureau® clients and global retrocession business partners aimed at designing retrocession solutions for AmericanAg® and its clientele. With a robust background that spans over three decades in the reinsurance industry, Pat has held various key roles at companies like Kemper Insurance and Zurich Insurance. Since joining AmericanAg® in 2008, he has advanced through various positions, culminating in his role as Senior Vice President, Broker Assumed Reinsurance.
