Japanese Rail Operators Collaborate for Safety
Starting July 11, 2025, Japanese rail operators will display anti-violence posters titled "Don't Let Anger Lead to Violence!" in train stations and onboard trains. This initiative is a collaboration among various rail companies, including the Japan Private Railways Association, JR Hokkaido, JR East, JR Central, JR West, JR Shikoku, JR Kyushu, and city transportation bureaus across Sapporo, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, among others.
The aim of this campaign is to combat incidents of violence against railway staff and conflicts between passengers. By working together, the participating companies hope to create a safer and more secure environment for all users of the rail system. The distribution of these posters is endorsed by the National Police Agency and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
