Kabukicho Street Cypher Returns with New Dance Battle Features for All Dancers

The vibrant atmosphere of Shinjuku's Kabukicho is set to embrace street dance enthusiasts once again with the return of the Kabukicho Street Cypher (KSC). Organized by TST Entertainment, this event aims to create a unified platform where street dancers from various backgrounds can shine. Following its successful launch last year, KSC is ready to introduce its 2nd Season, which promises an even more dynamic dance battle experience.

New Features in the 2nd Season

To make the dance battles more engaging and inclusive, several exciting updates have been introduced for this season:

1. Guest Battlers Participation

In an effort to enhance the competitive edge, winners from specific rounds will have the opportunity to battle against specially invited guest dancers. If they manage to win, they will receive additional points separate from their usual victories.

2. Representation Battles

Competitors will register a collective group they represent at the time of entry. The group with the highest participation during the season will be awarded a showcase spot at the Kabukicho Street Cypher GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP. This interactive competition will have multiple categories, including units, teams, and schools, making it accessible for high school and college dancers alike.

3. Audience Voting Points

In a first for the event, audience points will now count towards the evaluation during the tournament's final stages. The dancer who secures the most audience votes will take precedence in the event of tied scores at the end of the season.

What is Kabukicho Street Cypher?

KSC aims to be an all-inclusive platform for both amateur and professional dancers. Defined by its cypher format, participants have the chance to showcase their improvisational skills in a communal circle, promoting a sense of unity and live interaction between performers and attendees.

The ranking system rewards performers with points based on their placements in each event. Those who accumulate the most points over the season will secure a coveted spot at the Kabukicho Street Cypher GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP, set to take place in April 2027 at Zepp Shinjuku (Tokyo). This initiative not only enriches the local culture but firmly positions Kabukicho as a sacred ground for dancers from around the globe.

- Second Event Date: May 26, 2026 (Tuesday), catering to a 2-on-2 format.
