The 2024 Singapore Comic Con, held on December 7th and 8th, witnessed a remarkable showcase by Blokees. This year marked a first for the brand as it introduced its latest collection featuring iconic characters from Sesame Street. This event attracted fans from all corners, eager to experience the magic of beloved franchises through exquisite figure designs.
Blokees captivated attendees with a broad repertoire of internationally recognized intellectual properties (IPs). Among the many attractions were Marvel's Infinity Saga, TRANSFORMERS, Hatsune Miku, Saint Seiya, Ultraman, Naruto, and more. The blend of these beloved characters allowed visitors to reminisce and immerse themselves in the familiar worlds they grew up with.
One of the standout features of Blokees’ presentation was the debut of their
Sesame Street preCOOL collection, commemorating the 55th anniversary of Sesame Street. This collection includes four figures, showcasing fan-favorite characters: Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and Abby. Attendees had the chance to see how Blokees crafted these figures to celebrate the unique charm and educational values that Sesame Street has provided across generations.
The innovative designs on display invited fans into a meticulously crafted universe of figures, merging nostalgia with creativity. The presentation was a vivid reminder of how these characters inspire joy and learning around the world.
In addition to the mainstream licenses, Blokees also expanded the scope by presenting a variety of global BFC (Blokees Figures Creator) works, enhancing the visitor experience. This year’s Comic Con revealed works from local and overseas creators, demonstrating the strength of community creativity. Notably, Mr. Wong (@izakku_ben) from Singapore showcased his detailed rendition of
Optimus Prime from the Classic Class series, featuring advanced painting techniques and a weathering effect that brought the figure to life.
Fellow creator Ms. Sun (@Liang Gong) from mainland China also displayed figures that introduced traditional Chinese culture to a broader audience through storytelling represented by three brothers Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei from the
Hero Infinity series.
Such collaborations and creativity demonstrate not just an appreciation for pop culture but a dedication to celebrating multicultural values. Blokees purposefully aims to expand its partnerships with world-renowned IPs, with the hope of bringing joy to fans globally through imaginative play and collectibles.
