Hyundai and Local Community Join Forces for Child Health and Education Initiatives at Anaheim Hyundai Grand Re-Opening

Hyundai and Community Engagement at Anaheim Hyundai Grand Re-Opening

On March 31, 2025, a significant event unfolded at the Anaheim Hyundai dealership - a grand re-opening celebration that not only marked the revitalization of the venue but also emphasized Hyundai's commitment to community welfare and child empowerment. The gathering showcased Hyundai's dedication to investing in the local community, particularly through initiatives supporting children's health and education.

As part of the celebration, Hyundai and Anaheim Hyundai generously donated $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim. This funding aims to enhance educational programming within the Club, improving resources for youth. Brandon Ramirez, Hyundai’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, stated, "Hyundai is passionate about investing in the community where we live and do business, especially when it comes to children's health and education."

The donation is integral to the Club's IMPACT Model, designed to ensure that each member receives a comprehensive foundation to become future-ready. By bridging educational gaps and preventing learning loss during summer breaks, the program provides resources that include materials focused on STEM, public speaking, and entrepreneurship.

In addition to the financial contribution, Hyundai organized a Hydrogen Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program at the Boys & Girls Club for over 25 elementary and middle school students. During this program, students had the unique opportunity to learn about clean energy while previewing the Hyundai Nexo, the company’s hydrogen fuel-cell SUV. The kids engaged in hands-on activities, including constructing hydrogen-powered model vehicles from recycled materials, thereby fostering creativity and practical knowledge.

David Blair, with the Boys & Girls Club, expressed his gratitude, saying, "This generous contribution will empower local youth with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to be future-ready and build great futures."

Further amplifying their communal impact, Hyundai Hope On Wheels alongside Anaheim Hyundai donated an additional $15,000 to the University of California Irvine, contributing to the UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge, an initiative dedicated to advancing pediatric cancer research. Since its inception in 2017, this challenge has raised over $6.2 million for various cancer research endeavors focusing on children. Hyundai Hope On Wheels, established in 1998, has become a prominent philanthropic force, assisting in funding critical pediatric cancer research across numerous institutions nationwide. To date, it has contributed over $250 million, significantly impacting the lives of countless children facing cancer.

Hyundai's corporate social responsibility branch, Hyundai Hope, stands firm on its principle of Progress for Humanity. The initiative engages in various projects that enhance the wellbeing of people and foster community growth. With Hyundai's significant operations in the U.S., including thriving manufacturing plants and cutting-edge research facilities, they're dedicated to not only providing advanced vehicles but also uplifting the communities where they reside.

In conclusion, the grand re-opening of Anaheim Hyundai set the stage for collaborative efforts aimed at nurturing young minds and supporting vital medical research. These contributions from Hyundai reflect a continuous commitment to community enhancement, ensuring that the future generation has the resources necessary to thrive.
