In a groundbreaking move for the automotive industry, Energy Fuels Inc., a prominent American uranium and rare earth producer, has announced a strategic partnership with South Korea's POSCO International Corporation. This collaboration aims to establish a stable and independent supply chain for rare earth magnets, crucial components for electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid drivetrains, detached from China's dominant market.

The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), outlines the main terms for collaboration. Energy Fuels will leverage its emerging U.S. production of rare earth oxides, specifically neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide, which has already shown promising results in initial qualifications. This oxide will be supplied in larger quantities to POSCO for processing into the essential metals and alloys needed for high-performance permanent magnets used in EV drivetrains.

POSCO, known for its production of traction motor cores, stands as a leader in the EV market, supplying many automotive giants. Fast-Tracking Production



With initial samples already meeting specifications, Energy Fuels anticipates that their NdPr oxide could soon become instrumental in powering over 30,000 electric vehicles. Such advancements are slated for as early as this year, with discussions of mass production and long-term supply agreements pending successful validations.

Energy Fuels is also working on ensuring that they can provide additional supply volumes for commercial-scale REE metallization and magnet production initiatives, benefiting a wider array of customers.
