Dahua Technology Unveils Innovative AIoT Solutions for Smart Cities at SCEWC 2026

Dahua Technology Showcases Advanced AIoT Innovations at SCEWC 2026

During the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) held in Barcelona from November 3 to 5, 2026, Dahua Technology, a global leader in AIoT solutions with a focus on video, presented its latest advancements aimed at creating smarter and safer urban environments. The event, themed "Together for an AI-Driven Urban Future," highlighted practical applications of AIoT that enhance urban safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Innovative Urban Safety Solutions

Dahua's Urban Safety solutions leverage an extensive network of cameras and IoT devices powered by AI analytics. These tools are designed to identify risks and coordinate emergency responses effectively. One standout application integrates intelligent recognition features, text and image searches, and path tracking, facilitating searches for missing persons through connected workflows focused on security and public safety.

Optimizing Smart Traffic Systems

The company also introduced groundbreaking Smart Traffic technologies aimed at improving traffic management through real-time monitoring, signal optimization, incident detection, and proactive alert systems. For example, in Campeche, Mexico, Dahua successfully optimized 34 intersections and implemented seven green waves, resulting in a 20% increase in traffic flow and a 15% reduction in wait times.

Enhancing Public Transport with Smart Mobility

Dahua's Smart Mobility solutions further elevate public transport safety and efficiency by incorporating driver behavior monitoring and integrated passenger information systems. By employing real-time video feeds, GPS tracking, and passenger counting systems, the company enhances fleet management and ensures adequate safety measures onboard.

Empowering City Governance

Dahua’s City Governance technologies utilize advanced AI analytics and multimodal information processing to detect various urban issues, including illegal street vendors, public littering, missing manhole covers, street flooding, blocked fire lanes, and smoke or fire alerts. Automatic notifications and natural language search capabilities enable city staff to identify and address these problems promptly.

Environmental Preservation Initiatives

In its pursuit of environmental protection, Dahua showcased its Eco-Environment solutions, designed to safeguard natural resources. Utilizing thermal cameras mounted at elevated locations, the system can detect potential fire hotspots up to 10 kilometers away. This works in concert with ground monitoring and drone technology to support fire detection efforts and emergency response. Additionally, advanced radar devices paired with PTZ cameras provide real-time water level monitoring, generating alerts when levels exceed predefined thresholds.

Engaging in Thought Leadership

Beyond product demonstrations, John Li, General Manager of Dahua's Global Government Business Department, participated in a high-level roundtable titled "Agent-Based AI Systems in Action." He emphasized the role of AI embedded in cameras and sensors to facilitate proactive city management, addressing urban challenges before they become critical. Li also discussed the importance of adhering to privacy, transparency, and accountability standards to guarantee that AI technologies deliver public value.

Max Huang, Director of Global Government Projects at Dahua Technology, delivered a compelling talk on "Building Resilient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Smart Cities with AIoT." He explained how state-of-the-art intelligence and high-quality structured data are essential for deploying large AI models in real-world smart city scenarios. According to him, future IoT detection devices will serve as the "eyes and hands" of AI, expanding its application into the physical world and helping cities become safer and more livable.

As urban environments continue to evolve, Dahua Technology remains committed to collaborating with clients and partners to advance the development of smart city solutions and support the ongoing digital transformation of urban areas.
