Supporting Local Communities: Palsystem Saitama's Grant Ceremony
On March 23, 2025, a significant event unfolded at the Palsystem Saitama assembly facility, known as
paru★terasu, located in Saitama City. The organization held a grant presentation ceremony for its
Community Activity Support Fund, allocating a total of 4 million yen to 16 selected organizations engaged in various community-based activities. This initiative reflects Palsystem Saitama's commitment to enhancing the local community's well-being, promoting social cohesion, and addressing important societal issues.
Palsystem Saitama, established in 1998, was created to utilize surplus funds generated from business activities for community contributions. The
Community Activity Support Fund focuses on a wide range of local issues, including welfare, urban development, and environmental challenges. Since 2021, the fund has also incorporated support for organizations involved in recovery efforts from the Great East Japan Earthquake, initially funded by a separate grant established in 2015.
During this year's grant selection process, an operational committee comprising Palsystem users, officials, and external experts reviewed the applications. This rigorous evaluation led to the selection of 16 organizations that had demonstrated significant impacts in creating safe havens and providing educational support for foreign residents.
The ceremony was led by Palsystem Saitama’s chairwoman, Yoshiko Nishiuchi, who presented certificates of grant allocation to each of the recipient organizations. This moment not only recognized the hard work and dedication of the local activists but also encouraged further collaboration among those addressing shared societal challenges.
Following the grant presentation, a reporting session was held where the 15 organizations that received funding in the previous year shared their successful initiatives. This was followed by a networking event, fostering discussions among attendees about the various local challenges they face. Participants exchanged ideas and insights, emphasizing the importance of community-driven responses to societal issues such as economic disparity, child-rearing and aging populations, and the isolation experienced by refugees and immigrants.
As the social landscape continues to evolve, Palsystem Saitama remains committed to engaging with community members who are tackling these challenges head-on. The organization aims to create a society where diverse voices are heard and where coexistence becomes a reality.
With over 228,000 members and a total business volume of 33.15 billion yen as of March 2025, Palsystem Saitama actively supports various local initiatives while fostering strong community ties. The organization encourages continued participation from its members and the broader community to ensure that the voices of all are represented in their mission.
