Partnership Announcement
Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) and Blue Star Families (BSF) are proud to unveil their new national partnership aimed at reinforcing support for military and veteran families across the United States. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in providing vital resources and services tailored to the unique challenges these families face.
Enhancing Access to Mental Health Services
Cohen Veterans Network, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to delivering mental health care for post-9/11 veterans and their families, has joined forces with Blue Star Families, a non-profit committed to empowering military families. Together, the two organizations will create an integrated framework to facilitate mutual referrals, allowing military families to easily access mental health services from CVN alongside various programs offered by BSF.
Dr. Anthony Hassan, president and CEO of CVN, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "We are proud to partner with Blue Star Families, an organization that has long been a champion for military and veteran families. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected network of care that addresses the unique experiences these families face."
Joint Programming Initiatives
The partnership will not only improve access to services but will also promote collaborative programming between CVN's Cohen Clinics and BSF's local chapters. By working together, both organizations aim to raise awareness about the available support and resources, ensuring that military families feel acknowledged and connected during their transition periods.
The launch of this partnership coincides with a special event, the Faith Leader Military Awareness and Support Training, set to take place during Blue Star Welcome Week on October 1. This training is designed for faith leaders of various denominations to equip them with the appropriate tools and knowledge to better support military families in their communities.
Addressing Unique Challenges
Kathy Roth-Douquet, CEO and Co-Founder of Blue Star Families, acknowledged the struggles military families often encounter. "It is an honor and a privilege to serve your country, but it can be tough. When it's hard, military and veteran families need support from providers who understand military life," she stated. This partnership is a response to the growing need for accessible mental health resources, specifically for the over 380,000 families that comprise BSF's membership.
CVN has made substantial contributions since its inception, providing care to nearly 90,000 clients through over 800,000 clinical sessions. Their services cover a range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and family-related challenges. With 22 Cohen Clinics operating across 20 states, and additional access through CVN Telehealth, they are committed to ensuring that no veteran or service member feels alone.
A United Vision
The synergy between CVN and BSF signifies a transformative approach to supporting military families. By leveraging their combined resources and expertise, the organizations are poised to enhance the overall well-being of veterans and their families. Together, they are setting a precedent for future collaborations focused on mental health and community support for military personnel, showcasing the power of unity in overcoming adversity.
