On January 2nd, Smilegate Megaport announced the arrival of a new Moonlight hero in their popular mobile RPG, Epic Seven. Named Diene, the Shepherd of Darkness, this update coincides with the celebration of the New Year and introduces an engaging character who ties into the storyline of the recently released episode titled 'The Lament of the Vanished Ember.'

Meet Diene, the Unexpected Hero

Diene is a country girl who becomes the contractee of the 'Dark Spirit King,' Noias, after a unique encounter with a black wolf in the forest. This extraordinary bond marks her transformation into a hero, fueled by her admiration for another hero, Aki. As Diene forges her path, her ambition to save the world spirals into an adventure that is as strange as it is heroic.

Unique Abilities of Diene

Diene stands out as a five-star Dark Mage hero. Her skills not only allow her to excel in battle but also support her allies through various powerful effects:

- Skill 1: Red Claw - This skill targets a single enemy and applies a burst effect. When Diene makes an attack, there’s a chance for a critical hit. The damage increases significantly with her health pool, and if she is in an 'immortal' state, the attack boosts the damage of the strongest ally's attacks.

- Skill 2: Noias's Guidance - At the beginning of a battle, Diene grants herself immortality for one turn. Whenever either side uses soul release, she cleanses all negative effects and triggers 'Dark Moon,' which dispels two buffs from all enemies, grants herself three turns of immortality, and increases her action gauge by 35%.

- Skill 3: Endless Darkness - This powerful skill seals all enemies for two turns. After executing this skill, Diene also reduces the action gauge of her foes by 30%. With the chance to inflict a critical hit, she can ignore resistance if she's in an immortal state.

New Year Celebrations in Epic Seven

Alongside the new hero reveal, Epic Seven hosts a special New Year event that promises exciting rewards and activities:
1. New Year Login Event: Players can log in until January 22nd to receive greetings from Merlin and collect special rewards, including level 88 gear and the event currency 'Red Horse Stamp.'
2. New Year Stamp Collection Event: By consuming stamina daily, players can earn 'Life Leaves' and the 'Red Horse Stamps,' which are essential to participating in the event.
