CARTA HD Extends 'Family Office Week'



CARTA HOLDINGS, a Tokyo-based company listed on the Prime Market under stock code 3688, has made a significant decision to extend its innovative initiative, 'Family Office Week', until August 29. Launched initially as a pilot in July 2025, the program aims to tackle the well-known challenges of working parents during the summer break, commonly referred to as the 'Summer Vacation Wall'. This initiative has received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with 90% of participating employees affirming its effectiveness in supporting a work-life balance.

As the number of dual-income families continues to rise, securing safe and comfortable spaces for children, particularly during long school vacations, has become a pressing societal issue. The 'Summer Vacation Wall' exemplifies the struggles of securing adequate childcare during extended breaks, in addition to issues such as waiting lists for after-school care and the '4th Grade Wall', where children lose after-school supervision.

With this context, CARTA HD's 'Family Office Week' seeks to support employees in balancing parenting with their work obligations. The initiative opens parts of their Toranomon office as kid-friendly zones, ensuring parents can work in a secure environment while their children are nearby.

During the trial period, the turnout has been impressive; on peak days, up to 10 families participated, with an average of three. Employees have expressed their gratitude, stating, "I struggled to find a suitable place for my child during the summer break, but thanks to this initiative, I could bring my child to work without worry. All my appointments went as scheduled, and I was even able to tackle new proposals." Another parent mentioned, "I had the opportunity to connect with other parents who have children of the same age."

Children involved in the program echoed similar sentiments, with one child saying, "I had fun. I made friends and would love to come again."

Additionally, a summer gathering hosted on July 24 saw participation from 10 families, totaling 13 kids and their parents. CEO Nobutaka Usami also attended, facilitating enjoyable interactions across different teams and roles.

While the initiative has been well-received, feedback from a survey of participants indicates a desire for further enhancements. Suggestions include providing monitors to aid parents in staying focused on work and developing activities tailored to various age groups of children. CARTA HD is committed to implementing these suggestions in future programs.

CARTA HD strives to foster a culture that prioritizes employee well-being, reflected in their recent certification as a 'Great Place to Work' in June 2025. By continuing such initiatives, they aim to promote sustainability that begins with employee welfare, ultimately building a more appealing work environment where all employees can evolve through their work.
