Experience the Streets of Chicago Through Photography
A unique photography exhibition titled "CHICAGO - Capturing Each Street with Leica" is set to impress art enthusiasts and photography lovers alike. This event is brought to you by Kitamura Camera Co., Ltd., under the management of
Shinjuku Kitamura Camera Store, located in Tokyo. The exhibition will be held from December 24, 2025, to January 7, 2026, in the Basement Gallery of the store.
A Collaborative Showcase
The exhibition features the works of two talented photographers, Koji Ueda and Miho Komuro, who have each taken multiple trips to the iconic city of Chicago. Throughout these visits, they beautifully captured the diverse expressions of the city as it changes with the seasons. What makes this exhibition particularly intriguing is that Ueda shot all his photos using film, while Komuro utilized digital technology, providing visitors with a powerful contrast between the two mediums.
Koji Ueda employed Leica M6, M-P, and M7 cameras using KODAK TRI-X 400 film. His works reflect the depth and nostalgia of film photography, which tell a unique story through each click of the shutter. On the other hand, Miho Komuro used Leica M10-P and M11 digital cameras, showcasing the vibrant and immediate nature of digital photography. Together, these distinct approaches offer a fascinating visual experience that highlights the various moods the city of Chicago can express throughout different times of the year.
Limited Edition Photobook
Coinciding with this exhibition, Ueda and Komuro will be releasing the latest edition of their collaborative photobook series, "MONOGRAPHY." This new release will be available for early purchase exclusively at Shinjuku Kitamura Camera Store and will include special perks, such as a limited edition postcard. Further details will be available on the store's website soon.
