Bracco's Global CEUS Steering Committee: Shaping the Future of Medical Imaging
Bracco Group, a leading name in diagnostic imaging, has convened the second edition of its Global CEUS Steering Committee, furthering international collaboration in the field of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). This pivotal gathering, held in Munich in conjunction with the esteemed EUROSON School, brought together 14 experts from various medical disciplines to foster a spirit of scientific exchange, share insights, and develop a unified vision for the future of CEUS technology.
A Journey Begun in China
The journey to this significant event traces back to an initial meeting in China in 2025, where Bracco first united specialists in CEUS from diverse backgrounds to discuss the rapid evolution in this exciting medical field. The follow-up meeting in Munich marked a substantial step forward as participants delved into current trends, clinical demands, and potential research avenues that could shape CEUS's future trajectory.
Bracco Medical and Research & Development (RD) representatives were part of this distinguished group, supporting discussions about the practical applications and challenges faced in CEUS. Antonella Filippone, the Head of Medical Affairs and Scientific Information at Bracco, emphasized the importance of collaboration: "As CEUS continues to expand across clinical settings, there’s a valuable opportunity to connect experts from different specialties and regions, learning from their diverse perspectives to advance the clinical adoption of CEUS."
Exploring Future Directions
At the core of the discussions were key scientific advancements that could redefine CEUS practices, such as super-resolution imaging and the integration of artificial intelligence into diagnostic workflows. Experts engaged in thoughtful deliberation surrounding novel software possibilities and their potential to enhance both diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic options. Victor Jeannot, the RD Program Manager at Bracco, underscored the critical nature of understanding the interplay between technological advancements and clinical needs: "Scientific progress relies on recognizing not just what exists today, but how forthcoming technologies and emerging clinical needs can redefine our future."
Building a Sustainable Network
The Global CEUS Steering Committee aims to serve as a durable, multidisciplinary network that connects CEUS experts worldwide with Bracco. This initiative is designed not only to enhance understanding of current practices but also to support long-term collaborative efforts in advancing the technology. The committee will hold annual meetings to maintain momentum and ensure ongoing dialogue among participants, fostering a robust exchange of ideas within the broader scientific community.
Bracco seeks to enrich the dialogue surrounding CEUS, supporting the innovation required to keep pace with the evolving healthcare landscape. As CEUS technology continues to grow in importance for its role in non-invasive imaging, connecting expertise and knowledge from various fields is crucial for optimizing patient outcomes.
