A Vision of Nature: Celebrating Women Artists in the Heart of DC

On October 2, 2025, the National Sporting Library & Museum in Middleburg, Virginia, welcomed a significant art exhibit titled 'A Vision of Nature'. This exhibition is part of a broader initiative by American Women Artists (AWA) to showcase the incredible talents of women artists across the U.S. and Canada. Moreover, the ceremony celebrated the contribution of women artists by distributing a total of $38,000 in awards. This initiative aims to enhance the visibility and appreciation of women’s artwork, which currently comprises less than 13% of the permanent collections held by museums in the U.S. AWA has set forth on a mission to increase this number through their 25 in 25 campaign—the goal being 25 museum exhibitions in 25 years.

The Executive Director of AWA, Andrea Bailey, expressed her pride in supporting women artists, emphasizing the vital role nature plays in our lives. She stated, 'This exhibition is particularly near and dear to my heart because nature brings vitality, solace, and meaning to our lives.'
