Unique Collaboration of Food and Learning at Setagaya Meat Festival

On May 10, 2025, the Setagaya Meat Festival will showcase a unique merger of culinary delights and educational activities, as HALLO, a programming education initiative, makes its debut. This event will be hosted at the lush Baji Koen (Equestrian Park) in Setagaya, Tokyo, inviting families to explore the intersection of food and learning in a fun-filled atmosphere.

Free Programming Experiences Await

Children from kindergarten to elementary school age will have the opportunity to engage in a complimentary programming experience featuring Playgram™, an interactive learning tool developed by Preferred Networks (PFN). This creative approach to learning programming encourages kids to solve missions and complete challenges, effectively bolstering their programming skills while having fun.

Additionally, a new classroom location will open its doors on May 7, just days before the festival, providing local families with more options to immerse their children in engaging programming education. HALLO aims to make programming accessible and enjoyable, ensuring children can explore their potential in a supportive environment.

Curriculum Developed by Top Engineers

The Playgram™ program is designed with the guidance of leading engineers at PFN, drawing inspiration from the K-12 Computer Science Framework widely used in the United States. This curriculum not only teaches basic programming techniques but also integrates essential future skills such as AI and information security. Through game-like missions, children gradually advance their abilities to a functional coding level—a true investment in their future.
