Aora and Uvance Innovation Studio Kick Off 'Sustainable Fun Lab'
In a groundbreaking initiative towards realizing a sustainable society, Aora Inc. has joined forces with Fujitsu's Uvance Innovation Studio to launch a new event series titled 'Sustainable Fun Lab'. This series aims to make sustainability engaging and easily accessible for cities, communities, and businesses.
Addressing the Financial Barriers to Climate Action
Climate change has long been seen as a financial burden often labeled as a 'cost center' by companies. This perspective discourages proactive measures, as consumers face rising costs passed on by businesses. Moreover, individuals frequently feel their small actions do not substantially influence environmental issues, creating a significant psychological and economic gap that inhibits action.
According to a survey by Hakuhodo, only about 25% of individuals aged 20 to 40 are actively engaging in decarbonizing behaviors, highlighting a major gap in understanding what actionable steps they can take. A staggering 30.4% of respondents expressed uncertainty about how to contribute, revealing a need for clearer pathways to individual action. Similarly, a Dentsu study shows while over 90% are aware of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), translating awareness into action remains a challenge. Furthermore, EY's institutional investor survey indicates that 66% of investors are skeptical about the future importance of ESG considerations, underscoring the need to demonstrate the economic viability of sustainability initiatives.
Launching the 'Sustainable Fun Lab'
In light of these challenges, Aora and Uvance have curated the 'Sustainable Fun Lab' event series to foster discussions about sustainable urban development from a fun perspective.
