The 2024 edition of the World Teqball Championships, held in vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, marked a significant milestone in the sport's evolution. With a record number of countries competing, this championship was not only colorful but also full of groundbreaking achievements.

This year's championships witnessed a surge in participation, with the highest number of athletes ever registered for the event, surpassing last years' peak. Countries that were previously less represented made headlines by capturing their inaugural medals. Owing to the widespread appeal of Teqball, athletes from various nations stepped onto the podium and celebrated historic triumphs across different categories.

Among the most notable achievements was Thailand's Jutatip Kuntatong, who not only became Teqball's first female champion from Asia, but also added her name to the growing list of champions from four different continents in women’s singles. Kuntatong's remarkable journey led her to a tightly contested three-set final against Brazil’s Rafaella Fontes, the previous year’s champion. Managing to turn the tables, she emerged victorious, highlighting her growth and determination.

For the first time, the top four spots in the men's doubles featured two Asian teams—Thailand's Jirati Chanliang and Sorrasak Thaosiri against India's Declan Gonsalves and Anas Beg. The latter secured India's first-ever medal in Teqball history, a proud moment for the nation. The tournament was flooded with ‘firsts’ for numerous competitors, underlining the expanding landscape of Teqball.

Additionally, Denmark claimed its first-ever medal with Nanna Lind Kristensen and Mira Faeno Dahlmann achieving a bronze in women's doubles. Serbian Nikola Mitro marked a historic achievement by becoming the first individual medalist for Serbia in Teqball history after finishing second in men's singles, solidifying his status as a remarkable athlete by earning three medals in three different categories over the course of the championships.

On the road to the finals, Mitro's impressive run involved the elimination of the three-time singles world champion, Adam Blazsovics. In a spectacular final, Romanian Apor Gyorgydeak reclaimed his title, showcasing his prowess by remaining undefeated throughout the tournament. His performance, culminating in a remarkable streak of 56 wins in singles, displayed his unmatched dedication and skill.

In the women's doubles, reigning champions Kuntatong and Suphawadi Wongkhamchan showcased their dominance yet again by successfully defending their title against a determined Hungarian team. This victory further affirmed their place among the elite in Teqball history.

Among mixed doubles, the reigning champions showcased resilience in a fierce competition against the Hungarian duo, managing to retain their title amid mounting pressure. The Thai team’s triumphs at the tournament echo the growing prowess of athletes from Asia, reflected by their success across various categories.

Vietnam proved to be a commendable host city, with filled arenas displaying the sport’s rich growth and enthusiastic following. As a gesture to facilitate more growth in Vietnam, FITEQ generously donated 1,000 Teqball tables along with a comprehensive sports education plan for local development.

The medal table indicated Thailand's dominance, with them securing four golds and one bronze, while Romania followed with one gold and two bronze. The championships concluded with great fanfare, marking a significant chapter in Teqball's journey towards becoming a globally recognized sport.

This remarkable year not only celebrated individual and team achievements but also paved the way for the sport's future, illustrating the spirit of competitiveness and unity through international participation.
