Kizuna Shokudo's Impact in March 2026
The Kizuna Shokudo, operated by the Kizunayukai Social Welfare Corporation in Tokyo's Kita Ward, continues its mission to create a welcoming community space by hosting free meals for children. In March 2026, the initiative expanded its reach by serving over 120 meals across three events held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. This effort included home-cooked meals prepared by nursery chefs and special contributions from local businesses, thereby strengthening the support network within the community.
Partnership with Gyoza no Ohsho
In March, Kizuna Shokudo received significant support from Gyoza no Ohsho, a popular local restaurant chain. With their help, the project was able to provide takeaway bento boxes filled with child-friendly and familiar dishes. This partnership not only elevated the children’s dining experience but also allowed for a larger number of meals to be distributed, significantly impacting the lives of local children.
Menu Highlights for March
- - Pork Curry
- - Mochiko Chicken
- - Gyoza no Ohsho Bento
Community Engagement
The response from the children who attended was heartwarming. Many came directly from school, stopping by to have dinner at Kizuna Shokudo. Numerous children asked, “Can we come again?” demonstrating that the space is evolving beyond just meal distribution to become a true community hub. Familiar faces are increasingly making regular visits, indicating that Kizuna Shokudo is successfully establishing itself as a safe and friendly gathering spot for children and families alike.
