Atlanta Fibroid Center Recognized as Best Physician Practice in Georgia for 2025

In a significant recognition for women's healthcare, the Atlanta Fibroid Center has been honored as a Best of Georgia™ Physician Practice for 2025. This award celebrates the Center's long-standing dedication to providing effective alternatives to hysterectomy, particularly for women dealing with uterine fibroids. The recognition comes from the Georgia Business Journal, highlighting the expertise of Dr. John Lipman, a leading figure in the field of uterine fibroid embolization (UFE). This minimally invasive procedure not only helps patients manage fibroids but also preserves their fertility and enhances their quality of life, with recovery times significantly shorter than those associated with traditional surgical options like myomectomy or hysterectomy.

A Commitment to Community and Education

The Best of Georgia Awards prioritize organizations that excel in service and add lasting value to the community. Atlanta Fibroid Center earned this recognition through a combination of verified consumer votes and editorial reviews, showcasing its reputation as a trusted source for advanced fibroid care and educational resources about non-invasive treatment options.

Over the past 25 years, Dr. Lipman has focused his practice exclusively on UFE, treating over 10,000 women. His pioneering work has greatly advanced women's healthcare and expanded public knowledge about non-surgical treatments for fibroids, encouraging a shift towards less invasive medical approaches.

"I am grateful for the trust that numerous women and families across Georgia have placed in our practice," shared Dr. Lipman. "Each patient comes with her unique story and hopes for relief, and our dedicated team embraces this responsibility with care. This award underscores the importance of informing women about their options that can replace traditional surgery. Women deserve full disclosure on all available treatment alternatives, ensuring that no one feels pressured to undergo surgery to alleviate their fibroid symptoms."

The Atlanta Fibroid Center is not just recognized for its clinical expertise but also for its individualized and respectful patient care. Many patients report transformative experiences post-UFE, regaining control over their health and lives.

Addressing Health Disparities

Fibroids disproportionately affect African American women, who often encounter barriers to accessing comprehensive healthcare information and treatment options. Atlanta Fibroid Center prioritizes outreach and education within this community, collaborating with various local groups and health organizations to increase awareness about UFE and tackle enduring disparities that lead to unnecessary hysterectomies.

"Many African American women are not provided with the full spectrum of treatment options available to them," stated Dr. Lipman. "Our mission is to ensure that every woman has the information she needs to make informed choices about her care, with UFE often being the best option for preserving fertility and avoiding unnecessary surgeries."

The acknowledgment received reflects a growing awareness of UFE, as well as the urgent need for accessible and effective healthcare throughout Georgia and beyond.

Growth and Future Initiatives

The Atlanta Fibroid Center is set to expand operations with a second location in Atlanta, enhancing access to care for even more women seeking UFE procedures. In 2026, the Center aims to broaden its educational outreach with community events, digital resources, and strengthened partnerships with local organizations. Dr. Lipman emphasizes the importance of continuing outreach efforts among populations that experience higher rates of fibroids, particularly African American women, promoting treatment methods that focus on safety, effectiveness, and long-term health outcomes.
