STL Expands Partnership with Netomnia to Accelerate Fibre Optic Rollout Across the UK
STL and Netomnia: A Partnership for the Future of Connectivity
In a significant move to advance the digital landscape of the UK, STL (Sterlite Technologies Ltd), a front-runner in optical and digital solutions, has announced an expanded partnership with Netomnia, the UK's second-largest alternative network provider. This collaboration is set to revolutionize the deployment of fibre optic networks throughout the nation, making connectivity faster, cheaper, and more efficient.
Strengthening Connections Across the UK
The partnership aims to develop advanced optical solutions that define Netomnia's fibre optic network, characterized by its capital efficiency and future readiness. With a native XGS-PON fibre optic network capable of delivering speeds of up to 10 Gbps, Netomnia is strategically positioned to meet the growing connectivity demands of the UK population.
Currently, Netomnia serves approximately 2.8 million premises, with about 400,000 connected customers. The ambitious goal of the company is to achieve an annual construction pace of one million premises, targeting three million connected homes by the end of 2025 and a staggering five million by 2027.
A Legacy of Innovation and Collaboration
Boasting nearly two decades of experience in the region, STL brings a wealth of knowledge and a robust global supply chain to the table. The company's well-established culture of co-creation ensures that clients like Netomnia receive personalized support suited to their unique requirements, which in turn accelerates deployment timelines.
STL's comprehensive range of end-to-end FTTH (Fiber to the Home) connectivity solutions, including advanced fibre optic cables, equips Netomnia to streamline its network rollout. These innovative cables feature a reduced average cross-section of about 20%, thereby enhancing conduit utilization and blowing performance while simultaneously minimizing material consumption and carbon footprint.
Commitment to a Future-Ready Network
Jeremy Chelot, the Group CEO of Netomnia, YouFibre, and brsk, expressed the necessity of a robust fibre optic network to cater to future needs in the UK. He stated,
