Karsan Aims for a Spot Among Europe's Top 5 Mobility Brands with Innovative Solutions

Karsan's Vision: A Leader in European Mobility

Karsan, a leading technology-driven mobility brand, is making significant strides in the public transportation sector. The company has reported an impressive 11% increase in revenue for 2025, reaching 330 million euros. This growth is largely attributed to the sale of electric vehicles, contributing 220 million euros to overall sales. Karsan's export figures have also surged, with a remarkable 43% increase bringing the total to 197 million euros.

As Karsan continues to solidify its presence in Europe, the company is eager to maintain this upward trajectory. In 2026, they plan to expand their operations by introducing driverless, autonomous public transport solutions. CEO Okan Baş emphasized that the Karsan e-JEST and e-ATAK have already secured leading positions in their segments within the European public transport market.

“Turkey serves as Europe’s production hub for buses and midibuses,” said Baş. Since 2019, Karsan has accounted for 80% of Turkey's exports of electric minibuses and buses to Europe. The strategic objective for Karsan is clear: to grow its presence in Europe and become one of the top five players on the continent within the next five years, primarily through increased electric vehicle sales.

In 2026, Karsan plans to explore new northern markets, specifically in the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Germany—regions where they currently do not operate. First, they will build their organizational structure in these areas, while also expanding their footprint in Spain and Poland, where they entered last year.

Karsan aims to grow their electric vehicle fleet in Europe to over 2,800 units, reflecting a substantial 30% growth rate. The company is actively investing in autonomous mobility technologies, focusing on the 8-meter Autonomous e-ATAK in Europe and the 6-meter Autonomous e-JEST in America. Notably, they have begun the process of removing safety drivers from their vehicles and aim to commence full driverless operations in Stavanger by the third quarter of 2026.

In addition, Karsan plans to broaden its product lineup by launching another electric vehicle model by late 2026, continuing to enhance its offerings and technological advancements.

With the motto 'One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility,' Karsan plays a pivotal role in the transformation of public transport globally. Over the past year, they have cemented their position with a fleet of over 2,100 electric vehicles, contributing significantly to this transition.

CEO Okan Baş commented on their performance: "We have increased our total revenue to 330 million euros, an 11% rise from 296 million euros in 2024. Our electric vehicles accounted for 220 million euros of this amount, reflecting a significant growth of 37%. Moreover, our export revenue rose to 197 million euros, up by 43%, alongside an increase in EBITDA from 32 million euros in 2024 to 54 million euros last year."

Karsan’s forward-looking strategy demonstrates not only a commitment to innovative transportation solutions but also a genuine aspiration to make an impact in the European public transport landscape. With ambitious plans set for 2026 and beyond, Karsan is undoubtedly a brand to watch.
