On May 13, 2026, the global launch of the Arabic edition of the first volume of the influential book, "China's Governance Under Xi Jinping's Leadership," took place in Cairo. This significant event was attended by key figures, including Fu Hua, President of Xinhua News Agency, former Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, and Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, who collectively unveiled the new edition.
The launch was part of the two-day Global South Media and Think Tank Forum, a China-Arab Partnership Conference that gathered around 250 representatives from 110 different media outlets, think tanks, governmental institutions, and enterprises from both China and the Arab world. This diverse assembly facilitated a platform for exchange and cooperation between cultures, aimed at strengthening ties in the age of global connectivity.
Xinhua News Agency’s Fu Hua noted during the event that, since the dawn of the new era, the agency has been actively covering the remarkable achievements and governance practices of Xi Jinping in China. The Arabic edition of the book serves as an essential medium to introduce the Arab world to China's governance philosophy and its practical applications. Fu emphasized that this launch opens a new window through which the Arab community can observe and comprehend the unique dynamics of China’s governance.
Fu expressed enthusiasm for collaboration with Arab media and think tanks to explore key governance issues. Through collaborative research, interpretation, and dissemination of vital insights, both regions can greatly benefit from shared experiences, thus contributing to the broader goals of national development and mutual understanding in the Global South.
The book launch was met with positive responses from attendees, many of whom viewed it as a critical resource, offering deeper insights into Xi Jinping's governance thoughts and China's developmental strides in recent years. They highlighted the significant potential for enhanced mutual trust and understanding between China and Arab nations, which will effectively deepen bilateral exchanges regarding governance experiences and foster a cooperative climate for building a prosperous future.
In addition to the book launch, Xinhua also released an associated think tank report titled "Achievements, Opportunities, and Prospects of China-Arab Cooperation in the New Era." The report offers a comprehensive overview of the successes and future potential of China-Arab relations, encompassing cultural, economic, and political frameworks. A supplementary publication named "Decoding the Buzzwords of the Global South" was also unveiled, aiming to delineate the key terms and concepts that are shaping discussions in the contemporary international community.
This historic event in Cairo not only marks the introduction of a pivotal text into the Arab-speaking world but also signifies an ongoing commitment to fostering international dialogues that transcend borders. The Arabic edition of "China's Governance Under Xi Jinping's Leadership" is anticipated to be an invaluable tool for those aiming to understand the intricacies of governance within China and is expected to aid in solidifying stronger connections between China and the Arab states moving forward.
