Exploring the Unreplaceable Elements of Creativity in the AI Era at Hollyland's WeConnect 2026

WeConnect 2026: A Celebration of Human Connection in the Age of AI

In a world where artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the creative landscape, Hollyland, a leading provider of wireless audio and video transmission solutions, recently hosted its WeConnect 2026 event. This gathering brought together creatives from over 30 countries to explore a fundamental question: What elements of the creative process remain irreplaceable in the age of AI?

A Unique Fusion of Online and Offline Experiences

The WeConnect 2026 initiative emphasized reconnecting creatives with authentic human expression. Hollyland introduced the "WE HEAR" concept, which sparked global discussions on the themes of AI, authenticity, and storytelling. Additionally, "The Echo" program invited participants to share unfiltered sounds, thoughts, and emotions — from late-night reflections to everyday moments that often go unrefined in the digital age.

Transitioning from digital discourse, the event also featured interactive elements like "WE PARK" and "WE PARTY," to foster spontaneous public engagement. Over 550 creatives participated in celebrations and community events held in cities such as New Delhi, São Paulo, Cairo, and Mexico City. The focus shifted away from tool-centric discussions, allowing attendees to exchange personal experiences, creative challenges, and future project ideas.

Experiential Journeys: Creativity Through the Senses

To facilitate a transition from technological immersion to sensory exploration, Hollyland organized immersive travel experiences. A group of 27 creatives from the Asia-Pacific region embarked on a journey from Jakarta to Bali, where they engaged their five senses in local adventures. Participants witnessed the captivating Kecak fire dance against a sunset backdrop and delved into unique culinary experiences, savoring local coffee while embracing tactile, olfactory, and gustatory sensations.

Rather than viewing these moments as content opportunities, the program encouraged participants to slow down and appreciate the world around them. As a result, creative collaborations emerged. Divided into six teams, participants crafted 90-second short films, encompassing everything from documentaries to creative lifestyle vlogs that captured the emotional depth of their sensory experiences.

Their journey continued to Yunnan, China, where 24 global creatives participated in an intercultural experiment. Working in multinational teams, they immersed themselves in traditional Tie-Dye textile artistry, the cultural practices of Dongba, local markets, community cooking, and the breathtaking scenery of Yulong Xueshan, often referred to as Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. These activities emphasized rediscovering fundamental sensory experiences, which often serve as the bedrock for original ideas.

A Drone Show to Light Up the Night

Back in Shenzhen, a special drone show presented by DAMODA illuminated the night sky with Hollyland's visual identity for WeConnect 2026. The buzzing atmosphere was followed by a visit to Hollyland's headquarters, where creatives engaged with the latest product innovations and held meaningful discussions with the research and development team. This visit was much more than simply showcasing technology; it reflected Hollyland's commitment to supporting creatives and acknowledging their needs.

At the heart of this experience, the interplay of diverse backgrounds led to the creation of uniquely different projects. Using Yunnan as a backdrop, creatives explored various thematic areas: immersive audio experiences, lifestyle stories, cinematic landscapes, and cultural narratives. While some centered around the sounds of markets and daily life, others documented local crafts, foods, and interpersonal relationships. This artistic exploration brought forth a rich tapestry of narratives, each influenced by the personal perspective of the storyteller behind the camera.

Beyond Technology: A Commitment to Creatives

As Yuki Eyok, a creative from Malaysia, noted, "Hollyland understands what creatives need — not just by developing products, but by grasping how we authentically work and create in the real world." With AI continually reshaping content creation, Hollyland believes that technology should enhance, not replace, real-life experiences. Through ongoing product innovations and investments in the global creator community, Hollyland aims to remain a trusted partner for creatives worldwide, helping them translate authentic experiences into meaningful stories.
