About the Play
"What's Wrong with Killing People?" is an intense stage adaptation originally penned for film, transformed into a gripping reading play. This revival will see Aki take on a leading role, showcasing her unique presence honed from years in the wrestling ring, in a challenging environment of suspense and drama.
The play will feature an array of talented actors including Sudo Kouichi from Ota Productions and Hattori Takeo from GFA, alongside Aki, amplifying the gravity of the narrative.
Aki’s Journey as an Actress
Aki’s path to acting began even before her wrestling career took off. After graduating high school, she explored various facets of performance, including modeling and acting as an extra in dramas. However, her desire to fully leverage her athletic abilities led her to pursue wrestling, where she ultimately gained fame and became a champion in her field. Despite her success, the desire to act never faded.
Recently, post-recovery from elbow surgery, Aki made her return to the wrestling ring on September 27, 2025, at Korakuen Hall, marking an impressive comeback. In her own words, she expressed her commitment to excelling in both wrestling and acting, underscoring her determination after receiving support from her fellow wrestlers.
"I have done everything I've wanted to do so far and achieved results, so I will do everything seriously and strive for results once more. This drive is who I am today," Aki stated.
Aki’s role in this theatrical production represents a significant milestone in her ambition to juggle wrestling and acting,
As Aki explained, her original inspiration to pursue acting stemmed from her experience working on the film "Kkaed Resler." This passion for performance, combined with her undying dedication to both careers, has paved the way for significant opportunities such as this upcoming play.
The Director’s Vision
Director, playwright, and creator Urakawa Takahit, is looking forward to this third rendition of the play. After the initial reading performance in March and a follow-up revival in August, the success of the project's evolving expression has led to this upcoming full stage performance. He shared his enthusiasm stating, "I want to tackle greater expressions in a larger theater, coinciding with Aki's aspirations to embark on her journey as an actress. This unique collaboration has birthed something incredibly special."
