China Successfully Launches Major 300MW Energy Storage Station Utilizing Advanced SINEXCEL Technology
Major Milestone in Renewable Energy
On December 5, 2025, China proudly announced the successful commissioning of its first phase of the largest electrochemical energy storage station, with a capacity of 300 MW and 1200 MWh. This monumental project is driven by SINEXCEL's advanced Power Conversion System (PCS) with a robust capacity of 1725 kW. This significant achievement is a critical step towards achieving full operational capacity, enhancing energy system stability, and promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources.
Project Overview
Situated in Shenzhen, the station is part of a two-site design plan that aims to establish an overall capacity of 600 MW and 2400 MWh. Equipped with 240 battery containers and 60 PCS cabinets, the project is designed to create an integrated model that combines wind, solar, and thermal energy sources alongside advanced storage and transmission capabilities. This innovative approach maximizes the use of renewable energy and significantly improves overall system flexibility.
SINEXCEL played a pivotal role in the success of this project, providing a total of 60 PCS cabinets, each containing three modules of its 1725 kW PCS technology. With peak efficiency ratings reaching up to 98.5%, the PCS incorporates cutting-edge multi-circuit connectivity technology, ensuring enhanced battery protection and supporting flexible configurations of 1, 2, 4, or 8 battery circuits. Furthermore, its combined AC/DC output simplifies system management and is designed to facilitate future expansion. The cabinets also come with an IP54 protection rating ensuring reliable outdoor operation.
In real-time applications, the system features an impressive 10ms response time for grid balancing, successfully meeting critical compliance standards across regions including North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and China.
