FANCL Collaborates with Okayama Association for Visually Impaired for Inclusive Skincare and Makeup Seminars

FANCL's Empowering Seminars for the Visually Impaired

FANCL Co., Ltd. has once again proven its commitment to inclusivity by organizing a joint skincare and makeup seminar with the Okayama Prefectural Association for the Visually Impaired. This year marks the third consecutive year of this collaboration, which took place on June 10th and 11th, 2026, in Okayama City.

The seminars offered practical knowledge and hands-on experience in skincare and makeup, specifically tailored for visually impaired individuals. On June 10th, the skincare seminar kicked off, providing insights into daily skincare routines. Participants learned about various skincare products, including toners, emulsions, sunscreen, and even special care techniques like sheet masks. The session aimed to elevate awareness among attendees about the importance of daily skincare practices.

One notable moment came from a male participant in his 40s who stated, "I usually apply sunscreen and use an umbrella, but I never considered the ingredients. Now, I want to choose sunscreens with UV scattering agents." His feedback reflected a positive shift in mindset towards skincare.

On June 11th, the focus shifted to makeup. The makeup seminar emphasized utilizing tactile senses to apply makeup without the use of brushes. Participants learned to create looks using their fingers, which enabled them to feel textures and better understand color applications on their skin. An 80-year-old attendee expressed her joy, saying, "I haven’t attended a makeup seminar in two years, but after following a proper skincare regime, my skin feels fuller, and I think I did well!" This expresses how skincare and makeup practice uplift the spirits of participants, instilling a sense of accomplishment.

The seminars not only fostered practical skills but also encouraged participants to embrace their independence. Exciting testimonials surfaced, with one first-time attendee sharing, "After hearing positive feedback from previous participants, I finally gathered the courage to join. Although I usually skip skincare and rely on my own techniques for makeup, I felt my skin become hydrated after learning about proper skincare. I had previously given up on trying blush, but now I can try it myself using the finger application method!"

Such testimonials highlight a significant transformation in participants' self-awareness and confidence. One heartwarming interaction was noted during the events when a visually impaired participant approached others to compliment their makeup, exclaiming, "You look wonderful!" This gesture fostered an environment filled with positivity and camaraderie among attendees.

Overall, the FANCL and Okayama association joint seminars played a vital role in empowering visually impaired individuals to take control of their skincare and makeup routines. More than just practical lessons, these sessions served as a platform for building confidence and initiating community among participants.

The success of these events showcases the importance of tailored experiences that cater to the needs of diverse groups—encouraging everyone, regardless of visual ability, to embrace their beauty and self-care practices with confidence.
