Unveiling the Essence of Energy Through Art
A unique artistic experience awaits as the Geidai Art Plaza, in collaboration with Shogakukan, presents the exhibition "Energy: What is Energy?" starting March 28, 2026. Located within the Tokyo University of the Arts and set in Ueno, this exhibition aims to delve into the concept of energy, which often goes unnoticed in our daily lives.
About the Exhibition
The "Energy" exhibition features the work of 11 talented artists associated with Tokyo University of the Arts, showcasing both current students and esteemed alumni. This exhibition invites audiences to engage with the broader meanings of energy—encompassing invisible forces such as "power," "vibes," and "heat." Through various artistic expressions, visitors can vividly experience and visualize energy’s presence across visual art, spatial arrangements, and interactive installations.
Importantly, this exhibition serves as a reflective journey for attendees, prompting them to reconsider their personal interpretations of energy. The goal is not only to appreciate art but also to explore the deeper connections we share with the unseen energies that influence our lives.

The Plaza regularly features themed exhibitions that differ every one to two months, displaying a variety of artistic mediums from oil paintings and Japanese paintings to sculptures and crafts.
In addition to the rotating exhibitions, the Geidai Art Plaza includes a fixed collection area called "LIFE WITH ART," which highlights functional art pieces such as tableware and accessories. They also offer unique drawing T-shirts directly created by Geidai artists, ensuring there's a piece of art for everyone. Photography and sharing on social media are encouraged, making it a welcoming space for art enthusiasts and the general public alike.
