Charity Santa: Bringing Joy to Children on Christmas Eve
Charity Santa, a certified NPO based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is calling for volunteers to participate as Santa Clauses on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025. This initiative will extend across 43 branches in 32 prefectures throughout Japan, creating special memories for children in need.
The mission is clear: Volunteers will visit families with children who have requested Santas, delivering gifts and joy while contributing financially to support disadvantaged children from low-income or disaster-affected backgrounds. The collected contributions from visiting families will go toward activities that assist such families. Moreover, volunteers will bring along books gifted through the Book Santa initiative, providing these children with free presents during their visits.
Since its inception, Charity Santa has mobilized over 25,145 volunteers, reaching approximately 60,000 kids with cherished memories of Christmas. This year, we are eager to welcome more individuals who share our vision of spreading joy.
How It Works
The Charity Santa program not only delivers joy and fun memories to children but also addresses socio-economic challenges. When families invite Santas for visits, they are encouraged to make donations that support children facing difficulties such as poverty, illness, or disaster. By doing so, those who may not have the opportunity to celebrate can enjoy an unforgettable Christmas experience.
Overview of Support Activities
Contributions from participating families directly fund visitation activities that reach out to disadvantaged children across the country.
