Culture In Motion™ Launches in the Midwest: Celebrating Communities Shaping Black Cultural Excellence

Culture In Motion™ Arrives in the Midwest

Culture In Motion™, an innovative art and empowerment tour spearheaded by cultural architect Kwanza Jones, is making its mark in the Midwest, a region renowned for its profound influence on Black creativity and culture. This initiative, which partners with the historic Apollo Theater, is committed to highlighting the rich cultural legacy of Black artists and communities in the United States.

Bridging Cultures and Communities

Set against a backdrop of historic venues, theaters, and community spaces, Culture In Motion seeks to engage residents of cities like Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Cleveland. The exhibition brings an interactive and dynamic experience directly to these communities, inviting local artists to collaborate and share their stories. Highlights include curated events such as "Chicago's Gospel Best," which showcases exceptional gospel artists from various churches across the City.

Kwanza Jones, the driving force behind the project, stresses the importance of showcasing the talents of Black artists and the cultural narratives that come from vibrant community voices. "Each community holds extraordinary artists and narrators. Culture In Motion aims to provide opportunities for these voices to be heard and connected to a broader cultural heritage," he stated.

The Heart of the Movement: SUPERCHARGED® Boost Bus™

At the center of this initiative is the SUPERCHARGED® Boost Bus™, a mobile cultural center designed to bring the Apollo's artistic charm, narrative strength, and creative inspiration directly into neighborhoods. The bus will traverse the Midwest, offering community members a space to gather, connect, and honor the artists and traditions that continue to shape their region's cultural identity.

Through engaging programs and creative experiences, Culture In Motion encourages local residents to celebrate their history while inspiring future generations of creators. The Boost Bus serves as a bridge, fostering new connections between artists and audiences through shared cultural expressions.

Cultural Legacy and Community Impact

In the Midwest, communities are rich with history, cultural institutions, and landmarks that preserve diverse traditions. This journey is not merely about showcasing art; it is about honoring the depths of history and the contributions of numerous artists who have shaped the area over decades. The initiative seeks to empower these communities further by igniting passion for creativity and providing a platform for contemporary artists to thrive.

Each stop along the Culture In Motion route presents unique stories and artistic expressions stemming from a legacy that extends beyond borders, uplifting the voices that foster cultural excellence for generations.

Culture In Motion is supported by the José E. Feliciano Initiative, which aims to create a long-term cultural platform grounded in accessibility, scalability, and community impact. To follow the journey and learn more, visit boostbus.com.
