Maire's Tecnimont and Baker Hughes Unite for Global LNG Innovations

Collaboration in LNG Initiatives

On February 3, 2026, MAIRE (MAIRE.MI) officially announced the signing of a non-exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between its subsidiary Tecnimont and the energy technology leader Baker Hughes. This agreement marks a significant step in the exploration and development of modularized, scalable liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects around the globe.

Understanding the MoU

Under the framework established by this MoU, both companies are set to explore opportunities to participate in upcoming LNG tenders that incorporate Baker Hughes' advanced NMBL™ LNG modular solution. This innovative approach aims to bring flexibility and efficiency to liquefaction projects, aligning with the global shift toward cleaner energy solutions.

The agreement not only lays the groundwork for collaborative efforts but also sets a clear intent for evaluating project requirements and determining optimal cooperation models. This structured framework will enable Tecnimont and Baker Hughes to merge their extensive expertise
in executing complex EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects and transforming it into actionable, sustainable solutions.

Impact on the Energy Landscape

The collaboration occurs in a significant context, as LNG continues to take a prominent role in the energy market. In recent years, there's been a notable transition away from coal, with LNG providing a more environmentally friendly energy source. As the global demand for energy security increases, so does the need for innovative solutions that are both efficient and low in carbon emissions.

Going modular is a strategic response to current market challenges. By enhancing the scalability and customizability of LNG projects, Tecnimont and Baker Hughes aim to respond to rising demands for more flexible, responsive energy infrastructures that support both energy demands and environmental goals.

Leadership Insights

Alessandro Bernini, the CEO of MAIRE, expressed optimism regarding the joint effort. He stated, "This agreement signifies another crucial milestone in our strategy to enhance global gas value chains using high-efficiency modular solutions. We are uniquely positioning ourselves to meet burgeoning demands for adaptable LNG capacities, ensuring both supply security and sustainable energy systems."
