YES-EU Launches Largest Battery Service Center in Norway

In a significant development for the European electric vehicle market, YES-EU, a frontrunner in high-voltage battery services, has inaugurated its latest facility in Oslo, Norway. This strategic move follows their partnership with NING Service, the official aftermarket service provider of CATL, a leading battery manufacturer.

A Hub for Battery Services

Covering over 10,000 square meters, the newly established YES-EU NING Service Center is set to become a pivotal hub for comprehensive battery lifecycle management. This facility will not only cater to certified repairs but also provide hands-on training, thereby ensuring that technicians and service personnel are well-equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.

This venture strategically places YES-EU as a leader in high-voltage battery service solutions across Europe, further enhancing its existing operations in various countries, including Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, and more. As of now, YES-EU has a localized manufacturing base in Italy, supporting its widespread service network.

Collaboration and Growth Opportunities

The relationship between YES-EU and CATL dates back to 2018 when YES-EU was acknowledged as CATL's first battery service partner in Europe. Initially focusing on services in Northern Europe, this partnership has evolved into a comprehensive scope covering battery service, lifecycle support, and skill enhancement throughout the continent. Egzon Bajrami, COO of YES-EU, emphasizes the synergy of this partnership—“CATL brings elite battery technology and industry expertise, while YES-EU contributes localized market knowledge and robust service infrastructure.”

The collaboration seeks to build a more resilient battery service ecosystem, enabling support for customers throughout the lifecycle of their batteries. The network provides access to both warranty and out-of-warranty repairs, utilizing original OEM spare parts, thereby serving a diverse clientele that includes fleet operators, leasing firms, and insurance companies.

Sustainable Repair Practices

One of the striking features of YES-EU's service approach is their commitment to sustainability. The company advocates for component- and module-level repairs instead of outright battery pack replacements. This method not only minimizes repair costs for clients but also extends battery lifespan and lessens material waste significantly. YES-EU's advanced diagnostics facilitate the identification and repair of specific battery parts, optimizing both cost and environmental impact.

With a team of over 200 specialists in the New Energy sector, YES-EU has successfully handled over 1,800 work orders, accumulating an impressive 20,000 high-voltage service hours and commissioning upwards of 4,000 MWh.

Ambitions for the Future

As YES-EU strives to reinforce its position in the New Energy Solutions sector, this new service center marks a crucial milestone in the development of its European service network. The company has ambitious plans to establish over 100 battery service workshops across more than 20 countries within Europe. With over 2,000 CATL-powered E-Buses already in operation, the foundation for scaling their services is in place.

Pierre Savoy, CEO of YES-EU Switzerland, shared insights on their strategic focus on the Nordic region, highlighting Norway’s leadership in electric mobility, where 94% of new vehicle registrations in the country are EVs. This momentum accelerates YES-EU's plans for a fully electric heavy-duty truck, with battery capacities ranging from 600 to 1013 kWh, set to launch later this year.
