Ronald McDonald House Introduces First Global Spokesfamily for Families in Need

Ronald McDonald House Introduces Its First Global Spokesfamily

On May 15, 2026, coinciding with International Family Day, Ronald McDonald House made history by introducing its first-ever global spokesfamily, the McBride family from Kansas City, Missouri. This initiative marks a shift from traditional celebrity endorsements toward highlighting the real families that benefit from the organization’s support. The McBride family, made up of parents Jevon and Jules along with their daughter Juliana, brings a powerful narrative of resilience, love, and hope, embodying the mission of Ronald McDonald House to assist families with children facing serious health challenges.

The McBrides recently appeared on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" where they shared their inspiring journey and introduced the iconic Spirit Tunnel to the nonprofit world for the first time. Their story resonates with many, as it sheds light on the urgent need for community support during trying times.

The McBride Family Story

Jules and Jevon McBride faced an unimaginable challenge when Jules was just 25 weeks pregnant. Following a severe car accident, both parents were left injured, and their daughter Juliana was born prematurely, weighing only 1 pound and 11 ounces. Throughout this difficult period, the family turned to Ronald McDonald House for support, which provided them a place to stay close to Juliana as she navigated through complex health issues including cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus.

During their 105 days at the Ronald McDonald House, they were not just provided a roof over their heads but also received emotional support and home-cooked meals that helped them cope with the overwhelming stress of having a critically ill child. Jules McBride remarked, “Ronald McDonald House was our family’s safe haven while Juliana was in the hospital, lifting our spirits during our darkest moments.”

The Role of Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House operates with a mission to keep families together during such pivotal moments in their lives, ensuring they have the necessary accommodations and support to focus solely on their child’s health. The organization is crucially important considering that nearly 90 percent of all pediatric-only temporary housing in the U.S. is provided by Ronald McDonald House. Despite this, the organization currently meets only 55 percent of demand in the U.S. and less than one-third globally.

To tackle these pressing challenges, Ronald McDonald House has set an ambitious plan to double the number of families it supports by 2030. As the global spokesfamily, the McBrides represent the many families dependent on these essential services worldwide. Joanna Sabato, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Ronald McDonald House Global, expressed excitement for the McBrides’ role, emphasizing how their genuine story of strength mirrors the core values of the organization.

Call to Action

The McBride family's story is more than just a narrative of survival; it's a call to action for communities to support Ronald McDonald House programs. Families like the McBrides need these services now more than ever, especially as increasing numbers are being referred to specialized health care far from home. As reported, many of Ronald McDonald House's programs are at capacity, waiting lists are growing, and more families are left without critical support.

By coming together and donating to Ronald McDonald House, individuals can significantly help in fulfilling its goal of tripling its impact by 2030. Donations ensure more families can remain close to their children during crucial health treatments, enabling them to find the same hope and strength discovered by the McBride family.
