Mindbeam Partners with NVIDIA to Enhance Open Source AI Speed and Efficiency

Mindbeam's Groundbreaking Collaboration with NVIDIA

On October 15, 2026, Mindbeam, a prominent enterprise focused on next-generation AI infrastructure, officially announced a collaboration with NVIDIA. This partnership represents significant advancements in the open-source AI ecosystem, specifically targeting enhancements in two pivotal layers: generating high-performance CUDA kernels through a post-trained frontier model and implementing an inference engine designed to execute NVIDIA's cutting-edge open models with remarkable speed and efficiency.

The Logic Behind the Collaboration

As the demand for finely-tuned low-level systems and custom kernels increases, frontier open-source models have shown extraordinary capabilities in generating CUDA code. An essential engineering question persists: Can a model convert a PyTorch module into a raw CUDA kernel that can accurately compute the same forward pass while adhering to strict numerical tolerances, all while remaining free from architectural bias? To tackle this pivotal question, Mindbeam undertook the task of post-training NVIDIA's frontier model, dubbed Nemotron 3.5 Super VL (120B-A12B).

The fruits of this labor produced the Litespark Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, a robust open-weights model that excels in generating CUDA code across different levels of KernelBench evaluations. Notably, in the Level 1 evaluation, which gauges individual operations, the post-trained model surpassed 83.9% accuracy, a notable increase from the previous 72.7%. This reflects a fine-tuning improvement of 11.2 percentage points. The performance was even more impressive in Level 2 evaluations, where the accuracy rose dramatically from 22.8% to 82.1%, significantly outperforming GPT 5.6 Sol's accuracy of 57%.

Enhancing Inference Performance

The launch of the Nemotron 3.5 Super VL model is only as effective as the inference engine it operates within. With the rapid growth in state-of-the-art open models, the demand for high-performance inference has escalated. Factors such as tokens per second and latency have become increasingly critical. Mindbeam proudly announced top-tier support for NVIDIA's Nemotron 3.5 Super VL in the Litespark Inference Engine. Based on rigorous benchmarks utilizing just two NVIDIA H200 GPUs, the Litespark was able to achieve a throughput of 962 tokens per second per user, alongside an impressive 947 tokens per second output during warm-start measurements.

The versatility of the Litespark Inference Engine also comes through its ability to support various tunable parameters, allowing users to optimize performance for their specific workloads. Furthermore, users have the flexibility to fine-tune settings for throughput, latency, or overall hardware utilization, catalyzing diverse production scenarios for deploying open-source models. This innovative model designed by Mindbeam can produce performance-critical systems code, coupled with an engine engineered to maximize productivity from modern accelerators.

The Future of Open Source AI

This collaboration signifies progress in the open-source AI sector, propelling capabilities that are not only faster and more cost-effective but also more accessible to a wider audience. Nii Osae, founder and CEO of Mindbeam, expressed enthusiasm about building this future alongside NVIDIA's open models, stating, “We are proud to be building this future alongside NVIDIA's open models, and we can't wait to show you what comes next.”
