2. Aletira Therapeutics, Inc.: Pioneering in the field of gene therapy, Aletira aims to prevent hereditary hearing loss with groundbreaking treatments. Their innovative work, also under the auspices of Johns Hopkins University, was awarded an equal sum of $300,000.
Technology Assessment Awardees
The Technology Assessment award focuses on creating preliminary data verifications for commercial applications beyond mere research findings. The awardees include:

- - Pratyush Tiwary from Université de Maryland, College Park, integrates AI and physics to model RNA structures for therapeutic potentials, funded with $130,000.
- - Stavroula Sofou's research on alpha-particle antibody-radioconjugates, aimed at treating pancreatic cancers, also received $130,000 from the initiative.
- - Other notable projects include long-acting injectables for nerve recovery by Ala Elhelali and robotic laser technologies by Weidong Zhu, each receiving $130,000 in funding.
