Midea Group Achieves Historic Financial Success in First Half of 2025
In a remarkable demonstration of resilience and strategic focus, Midea Group has reported record-breaking financial results for the first half of 2025. The company reached a significant milestone with total revenue exceeding RMB 100 billion for two consecutive quarters, culminating in RMB 252 billion for the first half of the year. This impressive figure reflects a 15.7% year-over-year increase, alongside a notable 25% rise in profit to RMB 26 billion.
The growth was driven by strong performance in both domestic and international markets. Mainland China witnessed a 14.2% revenue growth, illustrating Midea's deep market penetration, while the company's international revenue soared by 17.7%. One noteworthy aspect is the remarkable growth in Original Brand Manufacturing (OBM) operations, which saw a staggering over 30% year-over-year increase in e-commerce sales revenue.
During this period, Midea Group also completed its acquisition of Teka Group, with the exception of Teka's Russian subsidiary. Revenues from the consumer segment reached RMB 167 billion, a 13.3% increase, while the commercial and industrial solutions segment posted a 20% growth.
In terms of innovation, Midea's investments in new technologies are paying off. The new energy and industrial technology segment’s revenue hit RMB 22 billion, and the intelligent building technology revenues reached RMB 19.5 billion. Additionally, the robotics and automation sector reported revenues of RMB 15.1 billion.
Midea's commitment to research and development is evident, with an investment of RMB 8.8 billion marking a 14% increase during the first half of 2025. The company has acquired over 5,500 new patents, positioning it among the top 10 global holders of patents, and boasts a global network of 38 R&D centers and 63 production bases.
On the environmental, social, and governance front, Midea has maintained its presence in the Fortune China ESG impact rankings, achieving an MSCI ESG rating of A for 2025. The company showcases its commitment to sustainability through its 37 green factories, 13 green supply chains, and advanced 5G-enabled manufacturing sites. Notably, the Midea Washing Machine Jingzhou Factory recently received certification from the World Records Certification Agency as the world’s first Intelligent Factory with Multi-scene Coverage of Excellence.
Ranking consistently in the Fortune Global 500, Midea secured the 246th position in 2025 and was recognized as the 184th company in the Forbes Global 2000 list, further underscoring its robust global brand presence and market influence.
